DAY 1:
CUSCO – HUMANTAY LAKE – SALKANTAY PASS – WAYRACMACHAY:
We start the classic Salkantay trek very early with the pick up from your hotel in Cusco and we go 3 hours to the trekking point. Before starting the walk you will enjoy a delicious breakfast (Soraypampa) after breakfast you will start with a constant uphill walk of 1.5 hours to the famous Humantay lagoon (4200 m.s.n.m). After exploring everything, you will start your way back to the starting point to continue to the lunch spot in Soyroccocha. This part of the Salkantay trek will be approximately 3 hours on gradually ascending terrain. Along the way, you will pass stunning places like the Salkantay Pampa, which means breathtaking views of the snow-capped mountains. These views are what make the trip more attractive. So we come to the point of lunch. After lunch prepared by the local chef of ALI PERU TREKS you will continue for approximately 1 hour until you reach the Salkantay Pass at (4650 mts). This is the highest point of the trek. There he will take a little rest

DAY 3:
SAHUAYAKU – LUCMABAMBA – LLACTAPATA (CAMP IN FRONT OF MACHU PICCHU):

- Elevation of camp: 2650 m/8,725 ft.

DAY 4:
LLACTAPATA – HYDROELECTRIC PLANT – AGUAS CALIENTE:
it is our last day of trekking and we wake you up with a hot drink you will enjoy your last breakfast prepared by your local trekking chef. Today it is a descent of 2 hours until reaching the hydroelectric station. You will have the opportunity to see the 300 meter high natural waterfall, which generates electricity for the Cusco region. This waterfall is one of the most impressive features of this area. From the Hydroelectric Station you will continue walking for another 3 hours in the direction of Aguas Calientes. Arriving in Aguas Calientes you will go to your hotel then you can take the opportunity to visit the famous hot springs (10 soles, not included) we will have dinner in the same town of Aguas Calientes.

DAY 5:
MACHU PICCHU – OLLANTAYTAMBO – CUSCO:
Today it will be wonderful to visit Machu Picchu: have an early breakfast before taking one of the first buses to Machu Picchu (starting at 5:30 a.m.). You will only need to take your backpack with everything you need to Machu Picchu. The hotel will store your bags while you are in Machu Picchu. The bus trip from Aguas Calientes to Machu Picchu takes approximately 30 minutes. We take the first buses up to Machu Picchu for sunrise, Once in Machu Picchu your guide will take you directly to the best place to watch the sunrise and take pictures. Your local guide will show you the main sectors of the citadel for a total of 3 hours. During this guided tour, you will learn more about the history and culture of the Inca Empire, we recommend that you return to Aguas Calientes no later than 2 hours before your train departure. The return train ride from Aguas Calientes to Ollantaytambo will take approximately 2 hours. In Ollantaytambo our staff will be waiting for you to take you back to Cusco by bus. The trip on the bus to Cusco will be approximately 2 hours and you will be dropped off at your hotel in Cusco.

- This trek covers a total distance of 55 km at high altitude. We recommend that you acclimatise in Cusco 2 or 3 days before doing the salkantay trek
