The Sacred Valley and Machupicchu tour is one of the most popular tours in the Cusco region. In the Sacred Valley of the Incas you can see beautiful colonial towns that were created, and that today show their mestizaje in architecture, art and living culture. There are the villages of Chinchero and its weavers and its handicraft fair, Urubamba and its cosmopolitanism, Ollantaytambo, with its fortress and its living Inca people. And Maras Moray with its dazzling salt mines on the other hand Machu Picchu is considered, at the same time, a masterpiece of architecture and engineering.

DAY 1:

CUSCO-VALLE SAGRADO-AGUAS CALIENTES:

For the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu tour we will pick you up from your hotel around 7 am and head to Chinchero to see the first Inca ruins of the tour. In Chinchero you will see the Inca sites and the colonial temple.
Our guided tour of Chinchero lasts about 1 hour. Then we will visit the local market. After our visit to the market we will head to Moray for another guided tour where we will go out to explore the terraces of Moray, believed to be an ancient Inca agricultural experiment. We will then head to the salt mines of Maras, where we will witness firsthand the salt extraction method employed since Inca times.
Our next destination is Urubamba. We will arrive there around 12:00 noon. In this impressive town, you will have the opportunity to enjoy a delicious lunch which is not included in the tour, after lunch we will continue with our 30 minutes tour until we reach the Inca site of Ollantaytambo.) This ruin was built with pink granite rocks and is another impressive example of Inca craftsmanship.
Here you will see the second largest rock from the Inca period (90 tons) that was used as part of the Temple of the Sun. We will have a guided tour of the site. After exploring the Inca site of Ollantaytambo we will head to the train station. The trip to Aguas Calientes is two hours and you will spend the night in Aguas Calientes in a comfortable hotel.

DAY 2:

MACHUPICCHU-OLLANTAYTAMBO-CUSCO:

Today is the most beautiful day today, we will visit machupicchu and we recommend that you wake up early to board the first bus at 5:30 a.m. Your guide will take you to take your postal photo of Machu Picchu, then you will start the guided tour of the main sectors of the citadel, for a period of 2 hours. During this guided tour, you will learn more about the history and culture of the Inca Empire. After the end of the tour, you will have time to walk on your own. Finally, you will have to return to Aguas Calientes to have lunch and get ready for your train back to Ollantaytambo. From there we will transfer you back to your hotel.
