On this Inca Trail to Machu Picchu you will enjoy the wonders of the Andes over 5 days.
The Inca Trail to Machu Picchu treks generally follow the same itinerary as our classic 4-day Inca Trail trek, but at a more leisurely pace.
This means that you can spend more time at each archaeological site along the way. Definitely an excellent option for those who are concerned about their walking speed and ability, as well as for families with younger trekkers.

DAY 1:
CUSCO – KM 82 – PATALLACTA – HUAYLLABAMBA:
The first thing we will do in the Inca Trail service 5 days 4 nights the first thing we will do is pick you up from your hotel in Cusco or Ollantaytambo in Cusco we start at 5:00 pm and if you are staying in Ollantaytambo you can rest a little longer as we will pick you up at 7:00 am. In Ollantaytambo we will stop to enjoy breakfast for 30 minutes.
Then we head to km 82 where we start the trek. To start the hike make sure you have your original passport as you will need it to enter the Inca Trail, then we will walk for 3 hours, which will be a relatively easy hike and visit two archaeological sites. These Inca sites had different functions, then we will begin a 30 minute walk to the lunch point.
After lunch, we will walk for approximately 2 hours until we reach the spring night camp (HUAYLLABAMBA).
On this 2 hour hike we will sleep in the last community of the Inca trail where you can take a hot shower and buy energy drinks. We will arrive at our campsite between 4:30 pm after arriving at our campsite you will be able to relax and have a hot drink and then at 7:00 pm dinner will be ready and then we will have a well deserved rest.

DAY 2:
HUAYLLABAMBA – DEAD WOMAN -PACAYMAYO:
The guide will have the task of waking you up early with a hot tea and then enjoy a delicious breakfast. After breakfast, we will start the 5 hour hike uphill on the way we will be able to appreciate all kinds of trees, cloud forest, flora and fauna until we reach the top of the dead woman (WARMIWAÑUSKA 4215masl). Before passing the summit we will have lunch in the place called (LLULLUCHAPAMPA 3600MSNM) after lunch we will conquer the mountain at the top of the mountain we will take a small rest with an extraordinary view, then we start descending for 2 hours to reach our camp (PACAYMAYO 3800 MSNM), then we will enjoy a hot drink and then we will have dinner.

DAY 3:
PACAYMAYO – SAYACMARCA – PHUYUPATAMARCA:
After breakfast, we will climb steeply up the opposite side of the valley wall, approximately two hours to the second pass; halfway up there is a small, round, roofless stone building. This Inca site is known as Runkuracay, we will make a stop to explore and do a brief tour, we will continue ascending towards the second pass, the Abra de Runkuracay (3,968/13,018). On the other side of the pass, the trail descends to a valley and a shallow lake. The trail after the pass leads 2 hours downhill to a second, larger Inca site, Sayacmarca (‘village on a steep place’). This Inca ruin was built on a rock overlooking the trail and can only be accessed via a narrow stone staircase. This site has no roof and is slightly overgrown with vegetation, but the walls are still strong and the shape of the fortress can be easily seen. After 25 minutes walk to the lunch point (CHAQUICOCHA 3900MSNM) we then head to the third campsite which is at Phuyupatamarka (3614 masl).

DAY 4:PHUYUPATAMARCA – WIÑAY WAYNA – MACHU PICCHU – AGUAS CALIENTES:
Wake up with the sunrise over the Andes; this is the most beautiful day of the trek. We descend approximately 3 hours down a flight of steps to reach the lunch point after lunch and visit another Inca site, Wiñaywayna which is known as the little Machupicchu and finally we head to INTIPUNKU (Sun Gate) and finally arrive at Machu Picchu in the afternoon and see the great citadel almost empty. Overnight in a comfortable hotel.

DAY 5:
MACHU PICCHU – OLLANTAYTAMBO – CUZCO:
We will wake up very early to take the first bus to the city of Machu Picchu, where we will be the first visitors of the day to enjoy the magic and mystery of one of the wonders of the world. Take the first buses to Machu Picchu and explore with your guide for 2 hours after exploring you will take the bus back to aguas calientes to have lunch together with your tour guide, but you should note that having lunch with your group is optional and is not included in the cost of the tour. then you will take the afternoon train 2:55 or 3:20 pm back to Ollantaytambo where aliperutreks driver will be waiting to take you back to Cusco and drop you off at your hotel.

- This trek covers a total distance of 45 km at high altitude. We recommend that you acclimatise in Cusco 2 or 3 days before doing the Inca Trail tour.
- You should bring your own backpack (25 L maximum). As you will be carrying it on your own, make sure you don’t carry anything too big or heavy.
