Last Inca Bridge Qeswachaca Full DAY
DISCRIPTION:
Q’eswachaka is a rope bridge built with vegetable fibre (ichu) located in the district of Quehue, province of Canas in the department of Cusco at 3700 metres above sea level over the Apurimac River. The existence of this bridge dates back to Inca times and its maintenance and renovation is carried out through a ritual performed by the local communities. The bridge is 28 metres long and 1.20 metres wide, its structure is basically made of long strips of braided ichu.

To start the tour we will pick you up from your hotel around 4:00 am and then we will drive for an hour and a half to the south of Cusco. Our first stop will be in the village of Cusipata, where we will enjoy a delicious breakfast. Then we will continue with the tour passing through the district of Yanaoca in this place we will visit the volcano of the pavilions, then we will continue our tour for 1 hour more until we reach the district of Quehue, where the famous Inca bridge of ‘Q “eswachaka” is located, which is built with vegetable fiber and has a length of 28 meters. The amazing thing is that it is rebuilt every year in the month of June by four local communities, in this place we will have some time to explore Q’eswachaka and its surroundings, while the guide will explain the history of this work of Inca engineering .
After visiting the bridge Q’eswachaka, we will continue our journey to the viewpoint of Mososqllaqta, where we will appreciate the lagoons of Pampamarca and Asnaqo: Pampamarca and Asnaqocha, then we will go to another viewpoint, where we will appreciate the lagoons of Acopia and Pomacanchi, observing a large amount of regional flora and fauna experiencing an enriched Andean culture. At the end of the circuit of the 4 lagoons we will return to the village of Cusipata, where we will enjoy a delicious lunch, after lunch we will return to Cusco. Arrival at approximately 5:00 pm
