Tour To Wacrapukara Full Day
DISCRIPTION:
Waqrapukara (from Quechua waqra, ‘horn’ and pukara fortress) in the form of a horn Huacrapucara is an Inca archaeological site located in the rural community of Huayqui, annex of Percca in the district of acos located in the province of acomayo in the department of Cuzco. It is near the Apurimac river at 4 300 m above sea level. It was built by the Canchis and then conquered by the Incas. The building would have been an Inca sanctuary. The building is located on platforms, squares and a forest of stones. Its function was a place of ceremony where sacrifices were made in honour of the sun god and the apus.

We will pick you up from your hotel around 4:30 am. Then we head to the village of Cusipata to enjoy a delicious breakfast. After breakfast we will travel for another 1 hour by tourist transport to the village of Santa Lucia. Arriving at the village of Santa Lucia we will take a detour and travel for 15 minutes more on a zigzag road until we reach the place Punta Carretera. Here we will get ready for about 10 minutes to make the final preparations. Once everyone is ready we will start walking, the walk is uphill with a duration of 1 hour and 30 minutes, the distance to cover is about 2.5 kilometres, arriving at Waqrapukara the guide will explain the importance of this archaeological complex, then we will have free time to explore the site on our own and take pictures, after the visit we will enjoy a delicious box lunch, then we will return by the same road to Punta Carretera, where our transport will be waiting for us to take us back to Cusco. Arrival in Cusco at 6:00 pm.
