The 4-day trek from Lares trek is an alternative route that takes us to know the wonder of the Andean villages that still preserve their traditions and customs. It is a remote region that offers the visitor a privileged view of traditional Andean life: a timeless world where farmers plant their crops in the lands that their ancestors tended and watch the herds of llamas and alpacas under the sacred snow-capped peaks that they worshipped as gods. we will walk surrounded by alpacas, llamas and under the foothills of the Andes with incredible views of lakes and glaciers. We offer this alternative route to Lares Trek and visit the Inca city of Machu Picchu. We will visit the thermal medicinal waters on day 3, a well deserved reward for completing the trekking part of the Lares route. WHAT MAKES OUR TOUR DIFFERENT:

Day 1:
Cusco - Sacred Valley - Huaran - Cancha Cancha

We will pick you up from your hotel at 5:00am and then we will head towards Huaran. It will be a two hour drive along the wonderful scenery of the Sacred Valley and through the Andes. Once we arrive at the site of Huaran you will enjoy your first breakfast prepared by the chef of Ali Peru treks. The trail then ascends gently following the Cancha Cancha River towards the community of the same name.

Along the way we will see cultivated fields and pass through ancient cloud forests. This type of vegetation is very interesting for a great variety of birds, and the valley itself is very impressive. We will have lunch halfway through the hike.

After lunch you will have time to explore the village and visit some local houses. There you will learn about the lifestyle and ancient traditions of the local people. Then it will be another two hours of gradual climbing and passing by the Rios waterfalls until you reach the camp.

Day 2:
CANCHA CANCHA - ACOPATA - PASO PACHACUTEC - QUISHUARANI

In the morning the tour guide will wake you up very early with a hot tea. You will have spectacular views of the river and the cancha cancha valley. Breakfast will be served once you have finished packing your equipment. After breakfast, you will begin a 3 hour hike uphill to the highest point, the Pachacutec Pass (4,650 m.a.s.l/15,478 ft.). The views of the area are breathtaking where you will see Wallatas (Andean geese) swimming in the crystal clear waters. The snow-capped Pitusiray and Sahuasiray will be right in front of us. Then we will serve you a well-deserved cup of coca tea and you can take some time to rest while your guide performs a spiritual offering ceremony to the sacred mountains. Then, it is a 2 hour downhill descent from the top of the mountain to the valley where lunch will be served. After lunch, we will continue descending two more hours downhill to our Quishuarani camp located at (3,690 m.a.s.l / 12,103 ft.), where people still practice Inca traditions.

Day 3:
QUISHUARANI - LARES MEDICINAL HOT SPRINGS - OLLANTAYTAMBO - AGUAS CALIENTES

Today we wake up early with a cup of hot coca tea and enjoy the last breakfast. Then we get ready for the last trekking. Today we follow another valley. Again the view of the Andes, turquoise lakes and beautiful valleys are breathtaking.

After the pass we walk downhill for 1 hour, passing many magnificent lakes. This brings us to the village of Cuncani (3,600 m.a.s.l/10,892 ft.).

Then we continue downhill for 3 hours to the Lares Valley and its hot springs, where we can enjoy the medicinal waters that are distributed in different pools, ranging from cold water to the hottest. These thermal medicinal baths are composed of volcanic water, so it is considered medicinal, once enjoyed the thermal medicinal baths we get ready for lunch. Here you will say goodbye to your horses, riders, chef and porters and from here we will board our private van, which will be waiting for us, for a 3 hour trip to Ollantaytambo (2,600 m.a.s.l/8,528ft.). "Last living Inca city". You will take some time to explore these ancient streets and the water canal that has been in use since Inca times. Dinner at a local restaurant in Ollantaytambo.

After dinner, we will take the train to Aguas Calientes. Upon arrival, you will check into your hotel and relax.

Day 4:
Machu Picchu- Ollantaytambo - Cusco

Today will be a wonderful day to visit Machu Picchu: have an early breakfast before taking one of the first buses to Machu Picchu (starting at 5:30 a.m.).  You will only need to carry your backpack with everything you need to Machu Picchu. The hotel will store your luggage for you while you are in Machu Picchu. The bus ride from Aguas Calientes to Machu Picchu Picchu takes approximately 30 minutes. We take the first buses up to Machu Picchu to see the sunrise, Once in Machu Picchu your guide will take you directly to the best place to observe the sunrise and take pictures. Your local guide will show you the main sectors of the Inca citadel for a total of 3 hours. During this guided tour, you will learn more about the history and culture of the Inca Empire, we recommend you return to Aguas Calientes no later than 2 hours before your train departs. The return train ride from Aguas Calientes to Ollantaytambo will take approximately 2 hours. In Ollantaytambo our staff will be waiting for you, to take you back to Cusco by bus. The bus ride to Cusco will take approximately 2 hours and you will be dropped off at your hotel in Cusco.
