The Inca Trail treks to Machu Picchu are extremely highly recommended for those hikers who love hiking and adventure. Day 1:
CUSCO - KM 82 - LLACTAPATA - HUAYLLABAMBA

The first thing we will do is to pick you up early in the morning directly from your hotel in Cusco or Sacred Valley. The pick up will start at 5:00 AM then we will drive for 2 hours to the town of ollantaytamdo and if you are staying in the sacred valley you can rest a little more. Arriving to ollantaytambo we will stop to enjoy breakfast. After breakfast we head to km 82 where we start the hike, to start the hike make sure you have your original passport as you will need it to enter the Inca Trail. We will hike for 3 hours which will be a relatively easy hike we will focus on visiting 2 archaeological sites (kanabamba) and llactapata these archaeological zones had different functions then we start a 30 minute hike to lunch point. After lunch we will walk another 2 hours until we arrive to the camp of the first NIGHT huayllabamba In this 2 hour walk we will pass through villages that are very important that still maintain the Quechua language which is an original language of the Incas Once at the camp, you can enjoy  a Pisco Sour, a hot shower, a massage and sleep in our comfortable luxury camp. And have a well deserved rest.

Day 2:
HUAYLLABAMBA - WARMIWAÑUSKA - PACAYMAYO

Day two starts early the guide will have the task of waking you up early with a coca tea to be able to climb the long and steep road to warmiwañusca or the mountain of the Dead Woman. We will walk for 2 hours until llulluchapampa (3,660 m.a.s.l. / 12,004 ft. m/ 12,004 ft) place where you will enjoy lunch after lunch we continue walking another 2 hours more to the highest pass of the mountain of the dead woman(4215 masl/13825ft) when we arrive to the pass we will have a little rest from the top of the mountain we can appreciate incredible views of the mountain ranges we will appreciate the flora and fauna then we begin to descend for another 2 hours more to the camp of PACAYMAYO At your arrival the team of aliperutreks will have your tent ready, Afterwards you will enjoy a hot shower, massage and then dinner. At night if the sky is clear we will have the opportunity to see the Andean constellations.

Day 3:
PACAYMAYO - CHAQUICOCHA - PHUYUPATAMARCA

After breakfast, we will climb steeply up the opposite side of the valley wall, about two hours towards the second pass, halfway up there is a small, round, roofless stone building. This Inca site is known as Runkuracay, we will make a stop to explore and do a brief tour, we will continue ascending to the second pass, the Abra de Runkuracay (3,968 /13,018). After the Runkuracay pass begins a 2 hour descent to a second larger Inca site, Saya marca. This Inca ruin was built on a rock overlooking the trail and can only be accessed by a single narrow stone staircase. This site has no roof and is slightly overgrown with vegetation, but the walls still stand strong and the shape of the fortress can be easily seen. After exploring the Inca site we walk another 25 minutes until we reach the lunch point (CHAQUICOCHA 3900MSNM) after enjoying lunch we walk another two hours to our campsite Phuyupatamarka (3614 masl). Arriving to the camp you will be able to see the Machu Picchu mountain in the distance and enjoy the incredible view of the snowy peaks like the Salkantay, the Pumasillo. you can also enjoy a hot shower, massage. After dinner you can enjoy the Milky Way and the constellations.

  • High altitude: 3900 m. / 12792 ft. (Second pass - Runkuracay)
  • Camping altitude: 3640 m. / 11939 ft.

 

Day 4:
PHUYUPATAMARCA - MACHU PICCHU - CUSCO

Wake up with the sunrise over the Andes; this is the most beautiful day of the trek. We will descend approximately 3 hours down a flight of steps until we reach the lunch point after lunch and visit another Inca site, Wiñaywayna which is known as the little machupicchu and finally walk another 2 hours more to INTIPUNKU (sun gate where you will have the first view of the legendary citadel of machupicchu. From here, we will continue a final 45 minute hike to Machu Picchu. You will have lunch at the belmond sanctuary lodge restaurant and then visit the citadel of Machu Picchu.

Exploring Machu Picchu after lunch allows you to see this fantastic place with less people and have incredible views. After finishing the tour, you will continue to Aguas Calientes, where you will have some free time to explore the town of Aguas Calientes. Later, you will board the exclusive Observatorio Vista dome train to Ollantaytambo where the aliperutreks driver will be waiting to take you back to Cusco and drop you off at your hotel.
