Itinerary

  • The Golden Temple: Qoricancha
  • We begin our expedition with a pickup from your hotel to visit the Qoricancha (Temple of the Sun). Currently integrated into the Santo Domingo Convent, this site was the spiritual and geographical center of the Inca Empire. Your guide will reveal how this imposing structure served as the golden nexus for the Four Suyos (Antisuyo, Contisuyo, Chinchaysuyo, and Collasuyo), showcasing the finest and most precise Inca architecture in existence.
  • The Megalithic Wonder: Sacsayhuaman
  • Next, we head to the outskirts of the city to explore Sacsayhuaman, one of the most iconic landmarks of the Empire. This architectural marvel features massive stones—some reaching 9 meters (30 ft) in height and weighing over 100 tons—perfectly fitted without mortar. Its strategic location offers a breathtaking panoramic view of the entire city of Cusco, having served both religious and defensive purposes for Inca royalty.
  • The Sanctuary of Mother Earth: Qenqo
  • Our journey continues to the Qenqo Archaeological Park. This unique site is a labyrinth carved into a natural rock formation, dedicated to ceremonies for Pachamama (Mother Earth). Inside its subterranean chambers, your guide will show you the trapezoidal structures where ancestral rituals and mummification processes were historically performed.
  • The Red Fortress: Puca Pucara
  • Our third stop is Puca Pucara, known as the “Red Fortress.” Its stones take on a reddish hue due to high levels of iron in the rock. This site consists of aqueducts, enclosures, and fountains; it is believed to have served as a military outpost for the defense and control of access to the nearby water sanctuary.
  • The Temple of Water: Tambomachay
  • To conclude our tour, we will visit Tambomachay. This elegant site features finely carved rock channels and waterfalls sourced from natural mountain springs. It was a sacred precinct dedicated to the Cult of Water, where the Inca elite performed purification rituals and worshiped this vital element.
  • Return and Drop-off
  • As part of our service, we offer total flexibility. At the end of the tour, we will transport you directly back to your hotel or, if you prefer, we can drop you off near the Plaza de Armas so you can enjoy an afternoon in the historic center.
  • Places to Visit: Qoricancha, Sacsayhuaman, Qenqo, Puca Pucara, and Tambomachay.

Faqs

Frequently asked questions

What time does the tour start and end?

We offer two shifts daily. The morning shift begins with pickup between 8:30 AM and 9:00 AM, ending at 1:00 PM. The afternoon shift starts between 1:00 PM and 1:30 PM, concluding around 5:30 PM. Each tour lasts approximately 4 hours.

Why aren’t entrance fees included in the tour price?

As a direct operator, we keep our prices transparent. The tour cost covers modern transportation and a professional guide. Entrance fees (Tourist Ticket and Qoricancha) are government and religious taxes that must be paid individually in cash by each traveler.

How much cash should I bring for the entrance fees?

For this tour, you will need a total of 90 Soles per person:

  • 70 Soles for the Partial Tourist Ticket (covers the 4 ruins).
  • 20 Soles for the Qoricancha Sun Temple.
  • Note: Ticket offices only accept Peruvian Soles in cash; they do not accept credit cards or USD.

Will I be picked up directly from my hotel?

Yes, we provide pickup from all hotels located within the Historic Center of Cusco. If your hotel is on a very narrow or pedestrian-only street, we will coordinate a meeting point just a few steps from your door.

Does the tour end at my hotel or the Main Square?

We prioritize your comfort. The tour concludes with a drop-off at your hotel. However, if you prefer to stay at the Plaza de Armas (Main Square) to enjoy dinner or walk around, just let your guide know, and we will happily drop you there.

Is the tour difficult to walk?

The difficulty level is Easy. You will walk along established paths. While Sacsayhuaman requires a bit more movement, our guides always maintain a relaxed pace to ensure everyone enjoys the sites without feeling the effects of the altitude.

What should I wear?

Cusco’s weather changes rapidly. We recommend “layering”: wear a light t-shirt but always carry a jacket or sweater. It gets chilly quickly when entering the stone temples or once the sun goes down.
