After this refreshing start, we will continue our journey for one more hour until we reach Soraypampa, the starting point of our ascent.
Surrounded by the majesty of the Andes, we will begin the hike toward Humantay Lake. Situated at 13,780 feet (4,200 meters), this turquoise gem rests at the base of the imposing Humantay Mountain. The trek takes approximately two hours along trails offering spectacular views of snow-capped peaks and deep valleys, where you can connect with nature and spot native bird species.

Great hike with a great guide to a great place. My 2 days and 1 night tour was well worth the money. My guide, Messiah, was knowledgeable, easygoing, and personable. As it was only the two of us, I got to set the pace for hiking, which was a bonus. For someone who doesn’t want to commit to a multi day hike with overnight camping, this is the tour to take. The hike to Machu Picchu was difficult but beautiful and made arrival at the site that much more special.

A hike to remember My mom and I did this trek for my 25th birthday. Our guide Alex took great care of us the entire time and was very patient with pacing us throughout the hike. Mesias was all around a great guide, experienced, knowledgeable, funny and entertaining. I would 100% recommend this exact tour to a friend and would do it again in a heart beat. Also, the hotel that they put us in was very nice and had great breakfast in the morning which was a huge plus. I recommend doing the hot springs too if you have extra time when you get back from the hike.
