Ancascocha + Classic Inca Trail to Machupicchu 7 Days 6 Nights
Prepare for the ultimate Andean crossing: the perfect combination of two worlds. This 7-day odyssey was conceived for those seeking the absolute balance between technical exploration and ancestral legacy. We fuse the wild solitude and challenge of the Ancascocha Trek—recognized by the prestigious National Geographic as one of the world’s finest hikes—with the historical majesty and incomparable archaeological richness of the Classic Inca Trail to Machu Picchu.
Throughout this exclusive route, you will witness a breathtaking geography that defies the imagination. Your path will be flanked by the imposing presence of colossal glacial peaks, ice giants that stand as eternal guardians of the horizon. As you traverse remote valleys where time seems to have stood still, you will experience nature in its purest and most authentic state.
Overview
An Immersion into Legendary Landscapes
In this expedition, the silence of the mountains is broken only by the wind and the footsteps of hundreds of llamas and alpacas, the sacred camelids of the Andes, grazing freely under the shadow of perpetual snows. It is a setting where wildlife and the high mountains intertwine to offer an unprecedented visual and spiritual experience.
This expedition will test your spirit at the most iconic landmarks of the mountain range. You will conquer the summit of the Huayanay Pass (15,255 ft / 4,650 m) in the absolute solitude of Ancascocha, before facing the most legendary milestone of the Inca Trail: the imposing Dead Woman’s Pass, or Warmiwañusca (13,828 ft / 4,215 m).
From these privileged heights, you will merge onto the royal stone path that leads you triumphantly into Machu Picchu through the Sun Gate (Inti Punku). This is the definitive route for those who demand professionalism, exclusivity, and an epic story that only true mountain lovers can star in.

Faqs
Frequently asked questions
What is the “Pre-Trek Briefing” and when does it happen?
The Briefing is an essential technical meeting held with your expert guide the evening before your departure at your hotel in Cusco. During this session, we will provide you with your duffel bag, conduct a detailed gear check, coordinate your exact pickup time, and answer any final questions about the route.
What happens if I suffer from altitude sickness (soroche)?
Your safety is our absolute priority. Our guides are certified in wilderness first aid and high-altitude rescue. We always carry high-capacity medical oxygen tanks and a comprehensive first aid kit. Additionally, during the first three days (the highest section), we provide an emergency horse in case you need to rest from hiking.
How is the water and food handled during the expedition?
- Water: We collect water from Andean springs, then boil, filter, and cool it before providing it to you every morning and after lunch. It is 100% safe for consumption.
- Food: Our professional mountain chefs prepare fresh, nutritious menus daily. We offer vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options upon request. Your meals include high-energy breakfasts, 3-course lunches, “Tea Time,” and gourmet dinners.

You are required to bring a portable power bank (at least 20,000 mAh) for your cameras and devices. Expert Tip: Keep your batteries inside your sleeping bag at night; extreme cold drains them much faster.
